VAZ: Vurtual Analogue Synth Emulator

VAZ Plus is the real-time software equivalent of an analogue synthesizer similar to the ARP Odyssey, Moog, Sequential Circuits Prophet 5, Yamaha CS-Series, Korg MS-Series, Roland Jupiter 6, SH-101 and TB-303 - to name but a few! It can be sequenced by the built-in pattern based sequencer (similar to that found on a TB-303), or by other sequencing software such as Cakewalk, Cubase etc.

VAZ Plus is fun, exciting and easy to use, and costs a fraction of the price of an analogue synthesizer. You can create those exciting analogue sounds that have been used in just about every type of music from the 80's to current modern dance music. It will allow you to use more exciting and unusual sounds, that only an analogue synthesizer can give you, adding energy and life, your music will be more unique and will stand out from the crowd.

The synthesizer architecture, which is much more advanced than its simple appearance suggests, allows unique sounds to be crafted easily and quickly, essential for making your music stand out from the crowd. The quality and diverse range of analogue sounds will surprise you, and there are hundreds of preset sounds included. The synthesizer can be played over MIDI, or using the high resolution timing provided by the VSTi and DXi plugin standards. There is also a handy QWERTY keyboard option for auditioning sounds when no external MIDI keyboard is available.

The polyphonic VAZ Plus Sequencer combines the best of classic analogue and digital pattern sequencers. In addition to note sequencing it can be used for patterned modulation of parameters such as Filter Cutoff and Resonance. The sequencer can also synchronize with the host directly when used as a VSTi or DXi plugin or via MIDI Clock for the standalone version.

"Thirty quid doesn’t buy you much these days, does it? You could always get your mum another cardigan for Christmas, but where’s the fun in that? So when you’re out shopping, consider our advice: sod the cardigan and get her (and your yourself) a copy of VAZ Plus. It’s a virtual analogue synth with a sound that’s so big, you’re gonna need help wrapping it.

The synth is based around the ARP Odyssey (classy analogue synth) and consists of two oscillators offering selectable square, saw and triangle waveforms. You can also import your own samples and feed them through the filters, envelopes and distortion effects. The sequencer is a doddle to use and provides sliders and buttons for each of the 16 steps, or notes, in a musical bar. It’s possible to accent notes, apply portamento and program sequences to control synth parameters, such as frequency cut-off.

If you’ve never had a go at programming a synth before, you’ll love VAZ Plus. Not only is there a wide range of sounds to get you going, the synth is easy to get to grips with, yet powerful enough to generate a vast range of useable noises.
